Spain is the world leader when it comes to olive oil. The country has the best climate in the world for growing olives, which makes Spanish olive oil one of the most important products to the country’s agricultural food industry.

With a long history of 6000 years of olive propagation, as well as a great diversity of olive growing micro-climates and now producing over 260 olive varieties, Spain has become the world’s largest producer and exporter of olive oil.

Many Spanish olive oils are cultivated organically, providing wholesome, natural flavours without scarring the environment. In fact, 40 per cent of Spain’s organic growing land is covered with olive trees so what you eat has gone through significantly less processing and chemical treatments.

Thanks to Spain’s climate, soil and growing techniques, Spanish olive oils have a high degree of national protection against rancidity and the damaging effects of transport, which means that they arrive in Australia as fresh as the day they left Spain.
